Extracts from the 2nd General Conference
Dhaka, Bangladesh-1982
The General Conference was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh on 4 and 5 December 1982 during the third ACRS. The conference was chaired by Dr. Abdullah Al-Muti Sharfuddin, a distinguished educationist and Secretary to the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of Bangladesh.
Dr. Shunji Murai, General Secretary of AARS, presented an annual report. Eight member countries participated: Bangladesh, India, Japan, Nepal, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam. China also participated as an observer.
The conference adopted the following resolutions:

Bulletin of Asian Association on Remote Sensing shall be published and distributed to member countries four times per year.

General Conference affirmed its deepest appreciation of the continuous services performed by the General Secretary, Dr. Shunji Murai and his untiring efforts in promoting the aims of the AARS.

General Conference affirmed its deep appreciation of the services performed by the Chairman and members of the Organizing Committee, the officers of SPARRSO and the Government of Bangladesh in making excellent arrangements for the hosting of the third ACRS in Dhaka.
