Extracts from the 5th General Conference
Hyderabad, India-1985
The fifth General Conference was held on 22 and 25 November 1985 during the sixth ACRS at Hyderabad, India. Professor B.L. Deekshatulu presided. Delegates from China, India, Japan, Republic of Korea, Sri Lanka, and Thailand attended. Australia applied for membership. Professor Shunji Murai was reelected as General Secretary for 1986 and 1987. In order to eliminate the inclusion of the papers of which author(s) cancelled to participate in the Conference, it was decided that a confirmation procedure shall be applied in addition to the submission of registration card. Otherwise, a penalty system may be introduced. However, the final consideration was left to the Korean Organizing Committee.
The General Conference approved the Korean proposal to establish a special session of Geographic Information System at the next ACRS.
The General Conference suggested that during the next ACRS the session on Education and Training may be extended to a session on Micro-computer system in Education and Training.
