I am pleased to send this message to the ceremonial publication to mark the 20th anniversary or the Asian Conference on Remote Sensing (ACRS).
Remote sensing is one of application of space technology that has revolutionized many sectors such as agriculture, forestry, urban planning and environmental management. The ACRS has played key role in promoting the adoption of this technology in the region. It has helped remote sensing to gain at research, policy and application levels, and has also popularized the subject among the general public. Several Department and the Arthur Clarke Institute for Modern Technologies, have benefited from working with ACRS.
As ACRS completes two decades of existence, I would like to congratulate all concerned for their achievements, and wish them all success in the coming years and decades.
